Our first encounter with the Gelma Empire. The Evil Bloody Mary (Makara) acting as emissary for Emperor Gelma enters our Solar system for the first time in a quest to find the F01.

Episode 18!!!

X Bomber: Episode 18 was never used as part of Star Fleet's 24 episode run. The episode would have fitted in between Lamia's Imprisonment on the Ice planet, and her eventual rescue. The episode is in fact a flashback affair with only six and a half minutes of new material, which is probably why the UK production team decided to cut it out completely as there had already been two earlier flashback shows, 3 is probably to much for what is a relatively short run. There are 3 chunks of new material and 3 long flashback sequences. Of the new footage there are: 3 minutes at the beginning featuring the crew of X Bomber, 2 minutes in the middle with the Imperial Aliance, and a 2 minute montage at the end setting up the next episode. The middle section is probably the most interesting as it features Makara's return to the Imperial Planet in the Thalian Zone, where she and Orion are rewarded for completing their mission with goblets of Gelma ale!

Bomber X opening and end credits
The opening and end credits to Bomber X are very different to Star Fleet. More emphasise is placed on X Bomber and it's main crew: Dr Ben Robinson (Dr Benn), Cyril (Shiro Hagen), Leo (John Lee) and Heracles (Barry Hercules), rather than the montage of diferent images we are used to seeing in Star Fleet's opening sequence.

The following vids are from episode 4, where we get to see the Dai X for the first time. Note the different feel the French music gives these scenes, from the almost cinematic score in "Dai X attack" to a weirdly sentimental theme for the triumphant Dai X in "Dai X stomp/Imperial retreat".
